HPC return to practice requirements changed

The Health Professions Council has withdrawn its return to practice requirements. Allied health professionals who had been out of practice for over two years were required to complete a period of supervised practice before being able to rejoin the HPC register. However, from 14 April 2005, the HPC has withdrawn its requirements and dietitians can reapply for readmission to the HPC register without completing specific supervised practice requirements. Further details can be found on the HPC website at http://www.hpc-uk.org/

Dietitians returning after a break are still required to meet the HPC Standards of Proficiency. The BDA offers a Re-entrants to the Profession Open/Flexible Learning Programme so that returners can be confident they can meet these standards. Click here for further details.
