Franchise Centres
The CED franchise agreement enables and facilitates local delivery of Centre for Education and Development (CED) courses.
Usually the franchise centre is located within the same NHS Trust or University as a local dietetic department allowing that department to benefit financially from hosting the course. Within this agreement, courses are not restricted to local delegates and are available to all members. This enables the CED core programme of courses to be delivered at any of the franchised centres throughout the UK.
A network of franchise centres has now been set up in Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Guildford Manchester and Southampton. If your department is interested in becoming a CED franchise centre, please contact Laura King on l.king@bda.uk.com.
Cardiff
The nutrition and dietetic department at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Cardiff. Most of the courses are held at the University Hospital of Wales. The hospital site is located to the north of Cardiff city centre. Cardiff central train station is a 20 minute bus journey. The M4 motorway is 4 miles from the hospital. There is pay and display car parking on the hospital site.

Coventry
The Department of Physiotherapy and Dietetics at Coventry University have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Coventry. The university is located in the city centre of Coventry and is only a short walk away from the train station. Coventry is easily accessible from the motorway network that bisects the region - M6, M40, M42, M5 and M69. There are a number of public car parks located close to all of the university buildings.

Derby
The National Centre of Rehabilitation Education (NCORE) at London Road Community Hospital, Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Derby. Most courses are held at Devonshire House at the London Road Community Hospital. The hospital is a short walk from Derby train station. The M1 motorway is 15 minutes away and car parking is available on-site.

Guildford, Surrey
The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Surrey have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Guildford. The University of Surrey campus is located a short walk away from Guildford train station. The M25 motorway is nine miles away from Guildford. Pay and display car parking is available on the university campus.

Manchester
The nutrition and dietetic department at Manchester Royal Infirmary have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Manchester.
The hospital is located to the south of Manchester city centre and is easily accessible from Manchester Piccadilly train station by a 15 minute bus journey. The M6, M62 and M62 motorways are easily accessed from the hospital site. There is a choice of pay and display car parks at the hospital.

Southampton
The nutrition and dietetic department at Southampton General Hospital have taken on the role of the CED franchise centre in Southampton. The hospital is located to the north west of Southampton city centre and is easily accessible from Southampton central train station by a 15 minute bus journey. Junctions for the M27 and M3 motorways are within easy reach. There are pay and display car parks located on the hospital site.
