Submitting an abstract

The deadline for abstracts is 5 August 2011. These should be emailed to Karen Leek, Administrator at k.leek@bda.uk.com. All submissions will be acknowledged.

Abstract selection process

1. Blind copies of abstracts and abstract summary are forwarded to the Research Officer (Judy Lawrence) from Karen Leek immediately after closing date, i.e. 5 August 2011, who will send them out to the reviewers.
2. Reviewers to score abstracts then forward abstract summary with scores and, if applicable, comments for changes by 16 September 2011 to Judy Lawrence.
3. Judy Lawrence to review all abstracts and scores i.e. accept, accept with changes or reject.
4. Judy Lawrence to forward results to Karen Leek by 30 September 2011.
5. Karen Leek to return abstracts needing changes to the authors by 7 October 2011. Authors must amend and re-submit to Karen Leek by 28 October 2011.
6. Karen Leek to return re-submitted abstracts to Judy Lawrence to check corrections have been made and a decision to be made about whether the author will be presenting as a poster or oral presentation.
7. Judy Lawrence to notify Karen Leek of accepted abstracts.
8. Karen Leek to inform authors that abstract has been accepted and also whether they will be presenting it as a poster or oral presentation by 4 November 2011.
9. The abstract booklet will be printed and will be available at the symposia.

Only research audit and service evaluation abstracts can be accepted for this event.  Innovative Practice Development abstracts can only be accepted for the BDA’s Annual Conference BDAC.

All abstracts must follow the BDA guidance document.
