"Journalism these days is - or should be - increasingly about guiding audiences through the mass of information and misinformation in search of advice that they can trust. A lot of our students are interested in lifestyle issues, and we encourage them to go straight to fact-based, verifiable sources - with the BDA always the starting point on diet issues. The alternative is for them to recycle anecdote, myths and quackery - and there's enough of that out there already. Our students find the BDA website easy to use; it provides a general steer to make sure they are working along the right lines, and sources of material for factfiles, or tips for readers on how to get further advice."
- Rob Campbell, leader of the journalism degrees at the University of Glamorgan.
