The British Dietetic Association web page updates provide even more information to its members
A re-vamp of some of The British Dietetic Association (BDA) web pages now means that the website provides even more advice, guidance and information to BDA members to benefit both them and those across the UK accessing nutrition and dietetic services from our 6,000 plus members.
A new policy section provides links and information to the key overarching structures and policies driving health and social care across the UK as well as some of the policy work the BDA has been involved in on behalf of the profession and responses made to consultations.
Pages on professional practice are packed with all sorts of information, tools and guidance to support members in their practice while pages on education include information relating to the pre-registration education and training of dietitians as well as guidance and tools to support members to maintain their continuing professional development.
In addition, with improved navigation it should now make it easier for members to access this information, something we will be actively consulting with our members about.
Sue Kellie, Head of Education and Professional Development said, ‘It is important that the BDA provides up to date information to its members on policy, education and practice, to ensure we are equipping the dietetic workforce and nutrition professionals with the information and guidance to support them in their practice. We hope that members find our new pages useful and will continue to work with us to ensure we continue to provide them with the information they need’.
If you have an occupational interest in nutrition and dietetics, which supports the aims of the British Dietetic Association you too may be able to become a member and benefit from this and lots of other support from the BDA.

Notes to the Editor:
- The British Dietetic Association, founded in 1936, is the professional association for registered dietitians in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is the nation’s largest organisation of food and nutrition professionals with over 6,000 members.
- Registered dietitians are the only qualified health professionals that assess, diagnose and treat diet and nutrition problems at an individual and wider public health level. Uniquely, dietitians use the most up to date public health and scientific research on food, health and disease, which they translate into practical guidance to enable people to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
- Dietitians are the only nutrition professionals to be statutorily regulated, and governed by an ethical code, to ensure that they always work to the highest standard. Dietitians work in the NHS, private practice, industry, education, research, sport, media, public relations, publishing, Non Government Organisations and government. Their advice influences food and health policy across the spectrum from government, local communities and individuals.
