Northern Ireland Call to Action launched

BDA Northern Ireland Board has created a 'Call to Action' for the government in Northern Ireland. The Call to Action sets out four key areas where the dietitians believe the NI Government needs to act to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Northern Ireland. AHPs - who we are and what we do

Published in March 2017, this document highlights how AHPs in Northern Ireland, including dietitians, are best placed to deliver the outcomes of 'Health and Wellbeing 2026'.

The Board continually seeks to highlight the key role of the profession through engagement in government policies and strategies including:

Health and Wellbeing 2026

In October 2016, the Minister for Health in Northern Ireland published Health and Wellbeing as a 10 year vision to transform the Northern Ireland health and social care system.

Making Life Better

A framework for public health in Northern Ireland. Department of Health strategy launched in 2013.

A Fitter Future for All

Published in 2012 as a cross government department framework to address overweight and obesity in Northern Ireland. The BDA is a member of the implementation group for A Fitter Future for All, with representation on the group from the BDA Northern Ireland Board.

Promoting Good Nutrition

The BDA Northern Ireland Board has membership on the implementation group for Promoting Good Nutrition, the Department of Health strategy for good nutritional care and prevention of malnutrition for adults in all care settings in Northern Ireland.

The Allied Health Professions Federation Northern Ireland (AHPFNI)

The BDA is a member of The Allied Health Professions Federation Northern Ireland.  The AHPFNI provides collective leadership and representation for its member professional bodies.
