Caroline Bovey - Chair Elect and Wales Constituency Council Member
Who you are and how you got to where you are
I am Caroline Bovey and my day job is Lead Public Health Dietitian in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in S.E.Wales. I have an MA in post compulsory education and training and am particularly interested in the context in which education happens for adult learners.
Why you wanted to be on BDA Council
I have been interested in the way that the BDA works since starting my career. I am also passionate about promoting the profession and joining Council gives me many opportunities to do this.
Your role on Council
My role is Chair of the Wales Board and I represent the perspective of the profession and members in Wales. Since devolution, policy frameworks have evolved differently across the nations and it's therefore important to have representation from all nations sitting at the table to ensure all areas needs’ are considered.
The aims/objectives of your board
We aim to promote Dietitians as the expert voice on Nutrition within Wales, to provide representation on external bodies and committees and to identify and respond to opportunities for the profession which can influence key policy and decisions in Welsh Government.
Being on BDA Council is a really inspiring and interesting place to be! Meeting other Council members and learning from them is an added bonus. I would encourage anyone who is interested in furthering our profession to get involved.
