BDA Boards

The BDA has country boards for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The country boards represent nationally, in the countries, the interests of the profession and members to key stakeholders, such as government departments and other professionals; and represent the members in those countries at UK level.

The BDA also has specific functional Boards who work across key areas, these Board promote best practice and represent the profession across the following areas:

Leadership opportunities – Scotland and England

As part of our new leadership structure we seek Chairs for our England and Scotland Boards. Both these Boards steer member engagement strategy and policy leadership in these countries. The Chairs for the Boards will lead this work, represent the profession and oversee the work of members on the Boards. They will be familiar with dietetics in the country and, ideally, have some experience of chairing committees or leading groups of people. However, the ability to work collaboratively and lead on the profession’s priorities is essential.

The appointments will be for 3 years in the first instance and training/support will be provided. An annual fee of £2844 (under review) will be paid to the successful candidate. Applications should be by CV and letter (500 words maximum), setting out what you will bring to the role and why you are applying.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed by the BDA’s Selection Committee which will make recommendations on appointment to the Board of Directors. Applications should be received by 29 November.

Interviews for the Scotland vacancy will take place in Scotland. Interviews for the England vacancy will take place in Birmingham. Interviews will take place the week of either 9 or 16 December 2019.
