GET Trust Fund Grants
Completed applications need to be submitted at least 6 weeks before the Trustees meet. The Trustees currently meet four times a year to consider grant applications. The next GET meetings will be held on Tuesday 21st May 2019, Monday 9th September 2019 and Monday 4th November 2019; the next deadline for funding applications is Monday 29th July 2019. Please submit your application by this date; applications received after this deadline will not be considered.
All applications must be on the standard form, although supporting documentation is welcomed. The Trustees will seek the views of two professional reviewers on each grant application, to get a view from experts about the suitability and relevance of the proposal. The reviewers views are confidential, as is the whole process. The decision on whether to support an application will be a decision for the Trustees alone.
You will be notified of the outcome of your application as soon as possible following the Trustees meeting. The Trustees’ discussions concerning applications are confidential. However, the Trustees will try to provide written reasons for their decisions wherever possible.

The Trust does not make grants for:
- buying buildings
- course fees for post-graduate qualifications, although the other costs associated can be covered
- supporting dietetic students in training
- funding conference attendance, unless the attendee is presenting a poster, a lecture, leading a workshop etc. and the conference will promote the science of dietetics or dietetic practice.
If a grant funded project generates income the Trust Fund may require income to be shared accordingly.
Every 6 months the Trustees require updates from every grant holder on the update form (Word file).

At the end of every grant, a comprehensive final report form (Word file) must be completed.
Attending conferences and events
The Trustees have established funding to support BDA members attending conferences and events, such as the International Congress of Dietetics. The relevant application form can be found here. Please submit your form and abstract at least three weeks before the relevant Trustees meeting, to allow it to be assessed and reviewed.
