What will this talk discuss?
A brief overview of the pathophysiology of re-feeding syndrome and will discuss the available evidence and its limitations in terms of identification and management of re-feeding syndrome and how this has been used to support the development of the 2018 pocket guide chapter.
About Rhys - Rhys qualified as a dietitian in 2004 and has worked across a range of specialities. He's been at Guys and St Thomas' since February 2012 as the Principal Oncology dietitian although is currently on secondment managing the dietetic department at St Thomas' Hospital. Rhys is also a clinical tutor and lecturer on the PENG Clinical Update course and sits on the BDA Oncology Specialist Group Committee. His main interests are cancer cachexia and re-feeding syndrome and he completed a Masters of Research (MRes) in Clinical Practice at St George’s University in 2015 which included a research project investigating the diagnostic criteria for cancer cachexia.
