HIV Care is a Specialist Group founded in 1993. It comprises of dietitians from not only the U.K. but also overseas, who specialise or have an interest in HIV/AIDS, and work in hospital, the community and industry settings. The Group aims to provide a support network and development group for dietitians to discuss ideas and projects and to promote this particular area.
HIV Care membership is open to all qualified dietitians and non-members are also welcome to attend the non-business part of Group meetings.
HIV Care currently runs an annual Education Training Day (entitled - What you need to know- HIV and Nutrition), and an annual Study Day, both with a wide array of speakers.
HIV Care works in close conjunction with the British HIV Association and is often approached to comment on national documents or be involved in national projects such as Standards of Care for People living with HIV.
HIV Care offers the opportunity to apply for funding to support any member presenting work by oral presentation or poster, at a national or international conference. We offer two bursaries per year which can be applied for by all members.
