Student volunteering opportunities

BDA student members have a wide range of opportunities to volunteer their time for their professional body and trade union. Volunteering provides excellent experiences to learn new transferrable skills, network with experts and peers across the profession and it's a great addtion to a student CV! Ad Hoc Opportunities

Occasionally we are approached by members about student opportunities such as internships. Here are the latest ad hoc opportunities

Get involved in your local Branch community

BDA branches offer students low-cost CPD and networking events in their local area. You can mingle and network with your peers and you could even consider becoming the Student Rep on the Branch committee. You'll get involved in helping to arrange various Branch CPD events and activities, whilst spreading the word at your university to encourage other students to attend:

Attend and represent the BDA at external events

"Volunteering or attending BDA events as a student is an excellent way to enhance your CPD, network with other students and professionals, and opens your eyes to the many different paths that a dietetics degree can lead to. The BDA often offers student subsidies, and also some travel bursaries to help you attend academic conferences." Student Member Harriet Smith, Kings College London

Each year the BDA attends a number of public-facing and industry-relevant conferences and exhibitions promoting the value and impact of dietetics. We also run our own national events. Volunteer at a BDA event and help BDA staff and your fellow members in a variety of ways such as supporting promotional stand activities, whilst getting a free ticket to attend – great for your CPD!
