Volunteer of the Year

The BDA Volunteer of the Year award launched in 2024 to recognise an outstanding individual volunteer who has gone above and beyond for the profession and serves as an inspiration for others.

Encompassing the BDA’s values by being credible, dynamic, professional and innovative the Volunteer of the Year will celebrate inspirational volunteer members who have an impact on their community, profession or committee.

Applications for 2026 are open until Monday 13 April at Noon. The 2026 awards will be presented on Wednesday 3 June in Birmingham.

Entry Criteria

To apply for this award, the nominee must be a member of the BDA and a current volunteer of the association. This award is open for applications and nominations.

Nominees must demonstrate:

  • The BDA’s values through everything that they do by being credible, dynamic, professional and innovative
  • How they act as a champion for the BDA
  • How they go above and beyond in their volunteer role
  • How they inspire and motivate others to volunteer
  • The impact they have made on the association and the profession

Exclusions: Spokespeople, Directors, trustees.
