As your professional body and trade union, the BDA is here to represent and support you throughout your working life.
If you ever have to face a problem at work related to restructuring or redundancy, disciplinary, sickness, grievance, workload or discrimination, our dedicated team of union experts will be on hand to provide free advice and support. They will also support you through any follow up which may include representation and attendance at legal hearings.
A full and associate BDA membership entitles you to representation for all types of employment issues. A student membership entitles you to advice, but not representation.
Your trade union is involved in negotiating the terms and conditions of your employment nationally (Agenda for Change). In addition, local reps will be involved in negotiating local terms.
Compared to some of the larger and more expensive Unions that cover a huge number of professions, the BDA Union has years of specialist experience representing the dietetic profession.
