When preparing and eating great food together, people learn life skills that can bring years of enjoyment, and they can learn to eat more healthily and economically. Cooking also builds self-esteem and creates a sense of teamwork which not only benefits us physically, but mentally too.

We have several training packages to support your project to get started.

If your project involves setting up cooking sessions, our online course can get session leaders prepped to plan and deliver them safely, using a standardised model and resource bank.

This has been one of the best training/courses I have done, and we are using this in practice already.

Family Worker, Barnardo’s

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Carefully plan and organise practical cooking sessions
  • Know all the things you need consider before you start
  • Identify the appropriate session for a variety of groups and individuals
  • Know who you might involve and how to manage them
  • Be able to choose a recipe and demonstration approach suited to your session aims

Whether your project is a local charity or food bank initiative, or a larger regional activity in receipt of funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund or Household Support Fund, these eLearning modules will get you started.

Tailored train the trainer programmes

Our Let’s Get Cooking experts can also build a tailored programme to support your project which includes hands-on cooking sessions. These training days are held face to face or virtually and can include bespoke messaging to suit your project aims and outcomes, for example, food insecurity and cooking on a budget, reducing food waste or making your favourite meals healthier.

We can also produce a custom video to support your eLearning with our video production partners or your own teams.
