Food will be provided at the start with a chance to network with other Dietitians. The evening will also include a tour of Holm Lodge after the meeting, if anyone would like to have a look around the Dietetics facilities.

Long Li - Lecturer in Dietetics
Long Li is a highly accomplished dietetics lecturer and registered dietitian at the University of Surrey. His engagement with various facets of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, combined with curriculum development and innovative programme contributions, have earned him nearly 100% student satisfaction ratings in his module evaluations. Long's remarkable digital presence in dietetics is evident through his management of the Dietetics social media platforms, leading to the winning of the 2023 CN Award for Social Media Personality of the Year and the finalist position for the 2023 BDA Awards Social Media Influencer of the Year. His dedication to enriching the student experience was recognised by the University of Surrey FHMS Prizes for Excellence 2023 Enhancing the Student Experience Award.
Dr Emily Walters
Emily will be talking about the development of the BAPEN pre-reg Instagram account.
Emily is an experienced and successful dietitian, leader and researcher with a PhD in Health Sciences. Her portfolio career builds on over two decades as an NHS dietitian and subsequent NIHR Clinical Academic Fellowship at the University of Southampton. She has expertise in nutrition support and is particularly interested in work streams to improve nutritional care, health and wellbeing through research, evidence-based practice and education. Emily is currently a research fellow at the University of Plymouth and is a new visiting lecturer at the University of Winchester. She developed and runs BAPEN’s pre-registration dietetic placements, is a Director for the BDA and a Partner of the HCPC. She also volunteers as the Malnutrition Officer for BAPEN and is a member of the Advisory Committee on Borderline Substances, Department of Health and Social Care.
