Join this joint online study morning exploring current practices in childhood weight management. Speakers will share their experiences from Tier 2 and 3 childhood weight management services across the UK. Childhood weight management training, and neurodisability and childhood weight management will also be discussed.

About Lisa - She has worked in tertiary level paediatrics for many years and has led the specialist team in Bristol for 25 years. She has extensive experience and has covered most areas of paediatric dietetics. She has studied to be able to perform physical assessments in children to enhance and extend her scope of practise. She is passionate about paediatric dietetics and has a strong drive to make clinical research everyday practise for the profession. She has volunteered with charities overseas, supporting good nutritional practise in resource limited settings, published in books, journals and presented at academic conferences. She is the clinical lead for the unique Masters in Paediatric Dietetics and has been involved with the course since its fruition. She volunteers as a member of the BDA Paediatric Specialist group and is currently the education officer on the committee. She currently works clinically within the specialities of Paediatric HIV and supports the obesity and complex community service.
About Ana Calvao Ramos - Ana Calvao Ramos is a Portuguese born Dietitian. She started her studies and dietetic practice in Portugal (1997) and after some travel around to world, set base in The UK since May 2013. Her special interest in Paediatrics and neurosciencies in particular, allowed her to work and create experiences on Community Weight Management Services, Acute (General Paeds, Allergy, Diabetes, Neonatal Feeding Clinic), Community Special Needs and lately as The Evelina Complex Needs Feeding Clinic (Behavioural, Medical and AHP’s Led).
About Ana Da Silva - Ana da Silva Ana is an Afro - Portuguese born in Angola. Registered Public Health Nutritionist, with interest in public health and intervention in obesity. Experienced in working with vulnerable families from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds to provide nutritional education and support. Involved in local NHS funded projects combating obesity in the community. Co-author of a community recipe book Together We Cook. Committed to continuing contributing to the field of nutrition and wellbeing. Currently working as an advanced dietetic Assistant in Community nutrition and dietetic with children with special needs at Evelina London.
About Constanza Peña - Constanza Peña (commonly known as Connie) is a Chilean born registered dietitian, MSc Advanced Professional Practice in Paediatric Dietetics. Working as a specialist dietitian for children with special needs since 2015 at Evelina London. Member of the BDA Obesity Specialist Group committee as resources officer since 2019. Lead author research article published 2022: ‘Parental experiences of adopting healthy lifestyles for children with disabilities living with overweight and obesity’ in Disability and Health Journal. Passionate about working with children and their families and to implement strategies tailored towards individual child’s needs that will improve their nutritional status.
