Hosted by Diabetes Specialist Group
This webinar will provide an up-to-date overview of current guidelines and research on the use of GLP-1 medications in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, before examining how these treatments are being applied in practice and their nutritional implications.
Beyond the clinical perspective, the session will explore the essential role of behaviour change in supporting individuals using GLP-1 medications for weight management. While these treatments can aid in weight loss, achieving lasting results requires more than pharmacological support.
You will gain insight into the importance of wrap-around strategies, including the adoption of sustainable lifestyle habits, a balanced and non-restrictive approach to eating, and moving away from harmful yo-yo dieting patterns. Special emphasis will be placed on increasing physical activity (particularly weight training) to preserve and enhance muscle and bone strength, which can be affected during GLP-1 use.
The webinar aims to equip you with practical, evidence-based strategies to help clients maintain long-term health, strength, and overall well-being while on GLP-1 therapy.
