Basic Nutrition Principles & Advancing the Dietetic Support Workforce Practice in Paediatrics

This course provides a solid foundation in childhood nutrition for both healthy and sick children. It covers key topics such as growth, breastfeeding, early dietary practices, basic nutritional requirements, and common nutritional issues. Participants will learn to detect nutritional risk, gain basic knowledge around the management of faltering growth, and understand dietetic strategies for common paediatric conditions. 

The course also introduces principles of nutrition support, including therapeutic diets, condition-specific nutrition products, enteral feeding methods, and the role of vegan and cultural dietary considerations. 

Additionally, participants will be able to enhance reflective practice, communication skills, and share best practices in paediatric dietetics. The course encourages discussion on improving and developing dietetic services. 

This course is ideal for dietetic support workers new to paediatrics or those looking to refresh their knowledge, skills, and expand their professional network.
