This is a one-day face-to-face course.
This course is designed for dietetic support workers, assistant practitioners, internationally trained dietitians joining the UK workforce, and individuals who are returning to practice, and who wish to develop their understanding of professional practice and their role within the dietetic workforce.
The course offers a supportive foundation for understanding the key principles, values, behaviours, and standards that underpin safe, effective, and ethical dietetic practice in the UK. As well as providing an overview of the dietetic workforce so you can understand and appreciate how your role contributes to the wider profession.
The course content is underpinned by relevant guidance, legislation, standards, and codes of practice from across the four nations of the UK, ensuring alignment with current professional and regulatory expectations. Learning outcomes will be achieved through engaging and meaningful content and activities, offering opportunities for interactive learning such as quizzes, group work, discussions, and experience sharing. The course aims to foster a reflective learning environment, encouraging participants to actively engage with the material, identify key learning points, and develop practical take-away actions to support their ongoing professional growth and effective contribution to the dietetic workforce.
