Speaker Bio

Nusrat Kausar is a registered dietitian currently working in the NHS as a PCN diabetes dietitian and as a freelance dietitian. She has a PG Certificate in Sport and Exercise Nutrition from Leeds Beckett University and is a current graduate registrant of SNER. Nusrat's freelance work is varied; supporting clients one to one, consultancy work, mentoring, delivering talks to health care professionals, delivering community education talks, and working with the media/social media. Nusrat has a special interest in working with athletes with type 1 diabetes. She can often be found volunteering for Diabetes UK Type 1 events, to support children and young people manage their diabetes whilst being active. Nusrat has a keen interest in reducing health inequalities in the UK and helping to raise the profile of dietitians in a number of areas. In her other roles, she is a member of Team Diabetes 101, she mentors, she is a director at Nutribytes, where she helps to create explainer videos, host webinars and mentor dietetic students or nutritionists. Nusrat is also a volunteer for the British Dietetic Association, she is on the BDA SENR Board, is current Chair of the BDA Yorkshire branch and Chair and founder of the BDA sports and exercise diabetes sub group.
