• Learn how to support patients with identifying and avoiding gluten
• Develop an understanding of what tests and approaches are useful when patients have ongoing symptoms despite being on the gluten free diet

About Cristian Costa Batlle

Cristian Costas Batlle is a gastroenterology dietitian specialising in coeliac disease and works both in the NHS and as Freelance Dietitian. At Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust he currently runs the dietetic-led coeliac service with the support of the gastroenterologists and he has built this service over the last 3 years. He also runs coeliac clinics through City Dietitians in private practice. 

In 2021 he was a double award winner for the national CN awards as Clinical Nutrition Professional Of The Year as well as being The Social Media Personality Of The Year.  In 2020 he was also awarded with the national GUTS UK and Dr Falk dietitian recognition award for improving patient care in gastroenterology through the dietetic-led coeliac service he has constructed in Bradford. Cristian has worked in a variety of clinical areas with inpatients and outpatients in the NHS, including Surgery, Hepatology, IBS and IBD.  His particular areas of interest are coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. He enjoys writing nutrition articles for nutrition magazines like CN Magazines and Dietetics Today.

He also guest lectures at Leeds Beckett University on Service Development and has a publication in the British Journal of General Practice Life edition with his dietetic colleagues Nick Trott and Yvonne Jeanes
