Autism Sub-Group - Understanding autistic burnout and the impact on food and eating

In this webinar, Jodie Clarke will share her lived experience as a neurodivergent individual, parent and autism specialist, alongside her academic research, to provide us with an understanding of autistic burnout. Jodie will explain how autistic burnout can present, the causes of burnout and discuss how and why it can impact eating.

Attendees can expect to learn how to support autistic people in burnout with their eating and recovery. There will be a short question and answer session following Jodie’s presentation.

Speaker

Jodie Clarke is an autistic trainer and autism specialist. She works with families, groups and organisations to provide advocacy, support, consultancy and training. Jodie has a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, MA in autism and is currently undertaking a PhD in autistic burnout. She has recently authored 2 books on autistic burnout and jointly authored a book with her daughter to provide insight into autistic lived experience. Through her work, Jodie aims to improve understanding of autistic people’s needs and provide support that ensures positive autistic self-identity and positive emotional well-being.
