In this journal club we will discuss a hot topic in cardiometabolic health: changes in body composition following GLP1-RA use. The paper we will focus on is titled “Weight loss with GLP-1 medicines does not result in a disproportionate loss of muscle mass or function in obese mice and humans” and is available here.
We will considered the nutritional implications of the findings and how this study aligns with the large body of evidence for these drugs being effective for CVD prevention.
