This session will examine evidence-informed approaches to food and health science communication that move beyond intuition-driven strategies (“what makes sense”) towards practices grounded in empirical research. Drawing on scholarship from science communication, health communication, and risk communication, we will present practical tools and concrete examples drawn from public campaigns and our 30 years of experience running online campaigns and social media channels to illustrate how the theory translates into real-world communication decisions.
