We’re proud to share that the British Dietetic Association (BDA)’s website and member database have been shortlisted for two national industry awards.
When we launched our new membership database in October 2023, our goal was simple: improve both member and staff experience while supporting recruitment and retention. This is all part of our long-term aim to reach 20,000 satisfied members by 2034.
Our new customer relationship management system (CRM) integrates fully with our website, making it easier for you to manage your membership - whenever and wherever suits you.
Since the launch, we’ve seen membership grow by more than 8%, thanks to improved retention, increased recruitment, and a better experience for members. More than 60% of members now belong to at least one specialist group, and our email query response times have improved by 85%.
The project has now been shortlisted for the 2025 Memcom Excellence Awards for best use of technology. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 25 September.
It has also been shortlisted in the Association Excellence Awards 2025 for best marketing project/initiative, with the ceremony taking place on Friday 7 November.
Louise Pritchard, BDA Chief Operating Officer, said, “Our data is crucial to daily operations. It helps us stay in touch with members, manage subscriptions, and gather intelligence to improve the association, develop services, influence policy, and advance the science and practice of dietetics.”
We want to thank our project partners - Bluelight (CRM), TC Group Kent (accounts), Pixl8 (website), and Equantiis (project management) - for their vital contributions to this success.
But we’re not stopping here. We’re committed to ongoing improvements, including simpler joining processes, better mobile access, personalised member experiences, and future updates to forums, CPD management, and our Find a dietitian and Find a sports nutritionist directories.
