Hosted by Cardiovascular Specialist Group
This is opening webinar for the cardiovascular specialist group and importantly this will look at where CVD “fits” within the 10 year health plan in the UK, and the challenges that the area faces on a global scale. We will hear from the senior education manager for Allied Health Professions NHSE as to where dietitians and other AHPs fit within the future of the NHS, and discuss the challenges that health initiatives such as MAHA create, importantly considering how dietitians need to be vocal with such strategies to ensure decisions are based on evidence. If you are a dietitian or other AHP then you need to attend this.

- Dr Kevin Klatt (PhD, RD) Research Scientist & Instructor, Nutrition Sciences and Toxicology, UC Berkeley, Associate Editor, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition
More about Dr Klatt - Dr Klatt received his PhD in Molecular Nutrition from Cornell University studying the impact of maternal choline supplementation on omega 3 fatty acid handling in pregnancy. Dr Klatt then completed his clinical dietetic (RD) training at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. He went on to undertake postdoctoral research at the Baylor College of Medicine and in the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Toxicology at the University of California Berkeley, studying the interactions of choline and fatty acid metabolism in producing phosphatidylcholine ligands for the orphaned nuclear receptor, Liver Receptor Homolog-1 (LRH-1). Dr Klat’s current research continues to merge traditional human nutrition and biochemical methods with modern molecular tools to uncover new insights on nutrient metabolism, signalling and requirements with relevance across the lifespan. In addition to research, Dr Klatt was the Inaugural Young Career Editor and is a current Associate Editor at the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and is a Section Editor of the graduate-level nutrition textbook, Biochemical Physiological and Molecular Aspects of Human Nutrition, 5e. He is a member of the Research Committee for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Dr. Klatt engages professionally on social media (X, IG, Substack)
