Module 3 - Clinical Dietetics for Infants and Children

For the more experienced paediatric dietitian. Whilst the disorders covered are treated in the acute phase in tertiary settings, once discharged children require continuing care at home so this module is valuable for dietitians providing shared care in both secondary and community services. Important changes to format - Please note the example programme is from a previous virtual module and will be updated shortly. The 2023 module will see a new blended learning approach, the lectures will be delivered virtually during part 1 and the workshops will be in the BDA office face to face during part 2. Delegates are required to attend ALL four dates.

Bookings are now open to international delegates. International applicants will be required to be Registered Dietitians in their own country and are unable to register for MSc credits the course would be undertaken for CPD only. Certificate of attendance from the BDA will be provided at the end of the course.

Modules take place virtually and in person on the following dates, you are required to attend part 1 and part 2;

    Welcome Session: Tuesday 13 June - 2pm until 4.30pm (Virtual)
    Part 1: 20 & 21 June 2023 (Virtual)
    Part 2: 27 & 28 June 2023 (BDA office)
    Post tutorial - Tuesday 25 July 2023 - 6pm-7pm (Virtual)

If your place is being funded by your NHS Trust or external funding we advise you request the details in advance to complete at the time of booking. This includes all invoice information and purchase order if applicable. If you are unable to provide the full details please email [email protected] with the information following your booking.  

The BDA will not guarantee your place via purchase order numbers emailed to us. The online registration must be completed and your purchase order number quoted on the online registration.

Each module is endorsed by the BDA upon completion of pre-course work and attendance at a four-day taught module. The modules are also incorporated into the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Paediatric Dietetics) course, in partnership with the University of Plymouth. Each module has an award of 20 MSc credits attached, upon completion of pre- coursework, attendance at the four-day taught module and post-course assignment. If you are registering to undertake this module for MSc credits, you will be required to complete an MSc level assignment in order to pass the module. The assignment requires strong academic writing and critical appraisal skills. In order to ensure you are best placed to succeed at this assignment,  we strongly advise that you should enrol and complete the Applying Evidence to Practice module first, before enrolling on this paediatric module.
