Attendees will hear presentations from members of the committee as well as external speakers with interactive workshops focused on building case study evidence and a valuable opportunity to capture evidence for your portfolio.
The day also features networking breaks, the Annual General Meeting, question and answer sessions plus a chance to discuss clinical management plans/

More about Alison - Alison is a Consultant Dietitian at St Mark’s hospital, London which is a national reference centre for severe intestinal failure. She is a member of the nutrition team initiating and monitoring patients requiring home parenteral nutrition (HPN). She completed her PhD in 2010 investigating the manipulation of glutamine and taurine in HPN on patient outcomes as well as patient knowledge and behaviour change. In addition, she investigated the immune status of patients on HPN specifically their dendritic cell and gut homing lymphocyte function.

More about Sharon - Dr Sharon Huish is an advanced-practice renal dietitian and Renal Dietetic Service Lead at Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. She is a recognised research leader in chronic kidney disease–mineral bone disorders (CKD-MBD), with expertise spanning vitamin D metabolism in haemodialysis patients and patient experiences of the rare condition calciphylaxis.

More about Nicki - Dr Nicki Ruddock: Kidney dietitian since 1994 and currently working as an ACP dietitian at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Special interest in CKD-MBD, a complication of CKD, and have taught on the post registration renal course for dietitians for many years on this topic. Qualified as a supplementary prescriber in 2018 and holds the position of research officer on the BDA Prescribers subgroup.

More about Elaine - Elaine has over 30 years dietetic experience and has worked across primary, secondary and tertiary centres throughout her career. Over the past 20 years Elaine has worked within specialist diabetes teams across North Wales where she was Service Lead for Diabetes Dietetics for 5 years. She has particular expertise in Mental illness, eating disorders and diabetes.

More about Sarah - Sarah is Senior Lecturer in Medicines Use at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, King’s College London and Director of the Centre for Adherence Research and Education (CARE). She is a psychologist with expertise in patient perceptions of medication and adherence support. With CARE, Sarah develops resources and training to support a range of healthcare professionals to effectively address medication nonadherence.

More about Yvonne - Dr Yvonne Jeanes is the Head of Research and Impact at the British Dietetic Association. Yvonne has moved from a university setting where I led and supervised healthcare professionals undertake a broad variety of research projects inclusive of laboratory analysis, clinical data and broader survey-based data such as studies that explore the rapidly evolving healthcare provision for adults with coeliac disease.

More about Sarah - Sarah-Jane is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and Ulster University. Sarah-Jane is currently Principal Dietitian and Clinical Team Lead for Nutritional Support/ Intestinal failure for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust managing the Regional service for more than 220 Intestinal Failure patients. Sarah-Jane sits on the National Executive of British Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) as Artificial Nutrition and Hydration Offiicer and leads the NHS commissioned Intestinal Failure Registry for the UK.

More about Michelle - Michelle Lewington is a registered nurse with over 20 years of clinical experience and has practised as a nurse prescriber for the past 10 years. Currently, she works as an Adult Nursing Lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University, where she also contributes to the development of prescribing practice.
Currently, in the fourth year of a part-time PhD, Michelle’s research focuses on governance structures that support safe remote prescribing.
