The overall aim of this course is to increase confidence and ability to safely manage adult patients requiring short term parenteral nutrition in hospital settings.
Its aligns the learning objectives and course content to those at entry level, who are new to the specialist area and are developing skills and knowledge, whilst utilising transferrable skills from other dietetic practice areas.

During the course we will reflect on practices in relation to PN at different hospitals. It will be useful to review your guidelines and policies for referring a patient for PN, vascular access, the types of PN products available and also monitoring standards.
