Module 5 - Neonatal Nutrition

A highly specialised module aimed at those working in level 3 neonatal intensive care units. This module will also be of interest to those working in level 2 local high dependency neonatal units. View Example Programme.

Due to the high demand for places on this module, international delegates (outside of the UK and Ireland) are not eligible to apply for a place via the online application system. Priority of places will be given to practising registered UK Dietitians. Should you wish to register an interest, you can do so here 

Please be aware that the pre coursework for this module includes the HEE neonatal modules & workbooks plus a reading list. This all need to be completed as a pree-requisite for the course. If you don't currently work on a neonatal unit you will need to arrange a visit(s) to the unit and neonatal out-patient clinic to assist in completing the workbook, in advance of the first day of the Module.

Modules take place virtually via Microsoft Teams on the following dates:

  • Welcome Session -  Tuesday 8 November 2022 (10am - 12.30pm)
  • Part 1 -  29 & 30 November 2022
  • Part 2 -  6 & 7 December 2022 
  • Tutorials - Friday 2 December, Friday 9 December 2022 and Tuesday 10 January 2023 - 10am - 11am

Each module is endorsed by the BDA upon completion of pre-course work and attendance at a four-day taught module. The modules are also incorporated into the MSc Advanced Professional Practice (Paediatric Dietetics) course, in partnership with the University of Plymouth. Each module has an award of 20 MSc credits attached, upon completion of pre- coursework, attendance at the four-day taught module and post-course assignment.
