Milly Durrant is an award winning membership, communications and marketing expert with almost 9 years’ experience in a senior management role at the BDA. Her focus is on improving the quality of member services, ensuring BDA membership is a valued community for the dietetic profession to be part of, and that member engagement with BDA activities, campaigns and events are high.
She is also focussed on ensuring dietitians are known as the go-to, trusted and expert health professionals, and the BDA is positioned as the leading voice on nutrition and dietetics, by continuing to grow our external impact and influence across our social media channels and the website.
Specialist Food Service Dietitian, ISS
Elise qualified as a Dietitian in 2011 and has worked in a variety of different areas including clinical dietetics, health promotion, and digital health coaching. In 2020, she discovered her love for food service dietetics and has since worked across 10 major London hospitals as a Specialist Food Service Dietitian. Elise provides expertise in menu development, staff training and food service improvement and bridges the gap between catering and dietetic teams. She currently works for ISS at Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust. Elise is also a co-creator of Nutridex – a website used by health and food professionals across the UK to access accurate food composition data.Acting Head of Nutrition and Dietetics, Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
Rhys qualified as a dietitian in 2004 from The University of Surrey. Since December 2020 he has been Acting Head of Nutrition and Dietetics at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London where he’s worked since 2012. He has managerial responsibility for around 150 dietitians. Prior to this he was the Clinical and Operational Lead Dietitian for the St Thomas’ Hospital adult team. Prior to management Rhys was Principal Oncology Dietitian at Guys Hospital where he led a team of dietitians who provide dietetic input to a range of tumour groups across the cancer pathway. He specialised in the management of patients with thoracic cancers and developed an interest in cancer cachexia. In 2015, he completed a NIHR funded Masters of Research in Clinical Practice at St George’s University which included a research project investigating the classification of cancer cachexia and its impact on the response to palliative chemotherapy in lung cancer patients. He is a member of the BDA oncology specialist group and served on their committee between 2015-2018 as meetings organiser. Prior to joining the team at GSTT Rhys worked for 4 years at Bart’s and The London NHS trust specialising in critical care, parenteral nutrition and IBD. Through the clinical update course he has also developed an interest in re-feeding syndrome and is co-author of the re-feeding section in the 2018 clinical pocket guide.
