Laskarina Digkliou
I’m Lila Digkliou, an HCPC-registered Specialist Paediatric and Diabetes Dietitian with more than 11 years of NHS experience.
My main specialist area is diabetes, particularly Type 1 diabetes in children and young people. I support families with carbohydrate counting, insulin dosing, multiple daily injections, insulin pump therapy, pump starts and optimisation, exercise management and the practical challenges of day-to-day diabetes care.
My clinical experience spans children, young people and adults, giving me a broad understanding of diabetes across different stages of life. I have worked within multidisciplinary diabetes teams alongside consultants, diabetes specialist nurses and other healthcare professionals, including the management of more complex diabetes cases.
Earlier in my career, I also gained experience across adult diabetes services, including complex Type 2 diabetes, gestational and antenatal diabetes care, insulin pump clinics and structured carbohydrate counting programmes.
In addition to my diabetes work, I have experience supporting children and families with a range of paediatric nutrition concerns, including growth and weight concerns, fussy and selective eating, feeding difficulties, emotional eating, obesity and coeliac disease.
