Indirect calorimetry in the ICU: How does it work, what is the evidence and how should we be using it? with Martin Sundström Rehal (Keynote Speaker), Specialist Physician, Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine at Department of Perioperative Medicine andIntensive Care, Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm Sweden.

Summary of talk: The talk will cover the physiological underpinnings of indirect calorimetry, a critical appraisal of the evidence of benefit from it's application in critically ill patients, and a pragmatic opinion of how it can be used.
