Fiona Moore is Chair of the BDA West of Scotland Branch and represents the branch on the BDA Scotland Board. She is Professional Lead for Dietetics and a Lecturer in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at Glasgow Caledonian University. Fiona has 15 years of clinical dietetic experience and completed an MSc in Advanced Practice in 2024. She is passionate about supporting dietetic education at all levels, developing the future workforce, and promoting engagement across the profession.

Mirren is a third year student dietitian studying at Glasgow Caledonian University. As the student representative on the Country Board, she is passionate about ensuring student voices across Scotland are heard and represented within the profession. She has a particular interest in Public Health and Gastroenterology and aims to pursue a career in these areas upon completion of her studies. She is committed to supporting fellow students, whilst encouraging engagement with the BDA, and helping to create opportunities for our future dietetic workforce.

Vicki is an Advanced Specialist Dietitian in Older People's Services with NHS Fife, bringing over 25 years' experience across clinical practice and public health nutrition. Alongside her clinical role, she is an active BDA Trade Union representative, currently serving as Co-Chair of the Local Partnership Forum and Partnership Co-ordinator within Fife H&SCP. She has a strong track record in trade union leadership, including Chair of the BDA Trade Union Executive Committee and BDA Board Director, where she champions workforce rights, partnership working and staff/member engagement at both local and national level.

William currently works as a Dietetic Consultant in Public Health at NHS Tayside, where he leads and supports a number of strategic programmes, including food, fluid and nutritional care, maternal and infant nutrition, child healthy weight, Good Food Nation and the implementation of the Type 2 Diabetes Framework.
Passionate about improving population health, William is committed to using his expertise in public health nutrition, dietetics and research to reduce health inequalities and support evidence-informed policy and practice. Through his role on the BDA Scotland Board, he is keen to contribute to the advancement of the dietetic profession and help drive meaningful improvements in health outcomes across Scotland.

Alison Lyles (HEI Rep)

Alison joined the BDA Scotland Board as the Higher Education Representative, bringing experience across clinical practice, education and professional development within dietetics. After graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Pharmacology from the University of Edinburgh, Alison completed her MSc in Dietetics at Queen Margaret University in 2007. She has worked within NHS Tayside and NHS Lothian across a range of specialist areas including care of older people, surgery, gastroenterology, oncology and renal medicine. Alongside her clinical career, Alison has made a significant contribution to dietetic education through student placement supervision and supporting the development of future members of the profession. Alison is currently a Lecturer in Dietetics and Programme Leader for the Dietetic courses at Queen Margaret University, where her interests include renal nutrition, chronic disease management, health literacy and practice-based learning. As the Higher Education Representative on the Scotland Board, Alison is passionate about supporting the development of the future dietetic workforce, strengthening links between education and practice, and ensuring the voice of higher education contributes to advancing the profession and supporting BDA members across Scotland.

Amy Simpson is an MSc Dietetics student at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and was appointed as one of the BDA Scottish Country Board’s student representatives in March 2026. She holds an undergraduate degree in Nutrition and has gained experience within NHS Scotland as a Dietetic Support Worker. Amy has also volunteered with organisations including Action on Salt and Sugar and Obesity Action Scotland, supporting public health and health promotion initiatives. In her role as a Scottish Board representative, Amy is passionate about representing student members, contributing to the development of the dietetic profession, and raising awareness of the diverse role of dietitians across Scotland.

Jo Teece (AHPFS Representative)

Jo is a HCPC registered Dietitian with a strong interest in prevention, health inequalities, diet, and healthy weight. Jo has experience using digital tools and resources to support work at local, regional, and national level, including with third‑sector organisations.
Jo recently graduated with merit from the University of Edinburgh after completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Leading Digital Transformation in Health and Care for Scotland. This has strengthened Jo’s skills and confidence in digital transformation.
Jo is hosted within NHS Lothian and is part of the Allied Health Professions (AHP) team that supports applicants to the Digital Leadership Programme (DLP). Jo is seconded as Clinical Lead (Dietitian) within the Accelerated National Innovation Adoption (ANIA) pathway for digital Type 2 diabetes remission.
As part of Public Services Delivery Scotland, Jo works with people across health, social care, government, and professional bodies. This work supports the development of national education resources and helps put the 2022–27 Scottish AHP Public Health Implementation Framework into practice.
Jo is passionate about connection, collaboration, innovation, and developing digital leaders. Jo volunteers as a peer mentor for DLP cohorts and values the learning and reflection that come from conversations with participants and their project work.
