Marianne Williams, Specialist Gastroenterology Dietitian presenting on Beyond diet: the creation of multidisciplinary and patient-informed guideline statements to support dietitians in the non-dietary management of IBS

More about Marianne - Marianne Williams, BSc Hons, RD, MSc Allergy, is an award-winning Specialist Gastroenterology Dietitian who pioneered the UK’s first dietetic-led primary care gastroenterology clinic and co-developed a nationally adopted IBS pathway. Now in private practice, she continues to shape national guidelines and digital health projects while supporting patients with gut disorders

About the session - Go beyond diet with new multidisciplinary, patient-informed guideline statements for IBS care. This session examines how dietitians can incorporate non-dietary considerations into practice, strengthening collaboration, appropriate referral and person-centred support.

More about Nick - Nick is a Gastroenterology Dietitian at the Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, specialising in coeliac disease, gluten ataxia, and dietary management of disorders of gut-brain interaction. He is a member of Coeliac UK’s Health Advisory Board and is undertaking a PhD exploring the role of dietitians in coeliac disease management.

More about the session - Review of the newly published British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines on the diagnosis and management of coeliac disease. The session will cover the rationale and scope of the update, key diagnostic recommendations, less common presentations, non-responsive and refractory coeliac disease, and the implications for dietary management.
