Aim:

To empower dietitians and the wider support workforce, across all levels and specialities working with adults with obesity, to feel confident and comfortable raising the topic of weight management, and to confidently explore and apply a range of evidence-based behavioural and dietary approaches in practice.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the day participants should;

• By the end of the day, participants will have had the opportunity to critically reflect on their own perspectives and experiences, with a view to strengthening their ability to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.
• Be confident in being able to sensitively raise the importance of weight management in a non-judgemental and non-stigmatising way
• Have a knowledge of mental health, psychological and social needs and where to identify appropriate support
• Have knowledge of the range of different behavioural change strategies that have been proven to be effective in supporting weight management
• Have knowledge of a range of diet (and physical activity) interventions that have been proven to be effective in supporting weight management
