Elisabeth Haljas
I am an experienced dietitian with expertise with type 2 diabetes, weight management, nutrition education/teaching and plant-based/sustainable diets. I worked for 3 years within Cardiff's Chronic Conditions Management team, where I saw numerous service users for support with weight management and controlling their blood glucose levels, both in one-to-one as well as group settings. Since then, I have been working within Public Health Dietetics team and delivering Nutrition Skills for Life courses and developing our departmental procedures for managing allergens in the cooking courses. Prior to switching to working as a dietitian, I was a chef, mostly in plant-based food places around London, bringing my experience, knowledge and expertise of working with food to the dietetic side of things.
On the side of my dietetic job, I am also teaching Estonian after completing TEFL level 5 certificate.
