Dietetic Prescriber Case Studies

As part of our campaign to extend independent prescribing rights to dietitians nationwide we're collecting evidence about your experiences as a supplementary prescriber.

We want to know about...

  • the times when things went well, and your ability to prescribe made a real difference
  • the challenges you've faced as a supplementary prescriber, and how the barriers it presents have affected you and your patients
  • and the moments when you know that having independent prescribing rights could have changed the outcome for you or your patients

We want to understand how this is impacting you, your patients and the wider health service, so don't just tell us what happened - tell us how you and others involved felt along the way. Change happens when people connect to real-life experiences, so help us to really tell the story of what you and your patients face on a daily basis.

We'll be using these case studies to build support for our campaign and help people to understand the problem. It won't just be clinicians reading them, it'll also be politicians, civil servants, journalists and members of the public. So with that in mind, please tell us your story using day to day language - you can still use medical terms of course, but just keep in mind that the reader might not be a medical practitioner!

You can submit more than one case study, but you'll have to fill out the form separately for each.

Download our Guidance Document for hints and tips on filling out the form.

Please note: we may edit your case study to improve clarity or flow, or use short quotes from it throughout our materials. But we'll never change the core message or meaning of what you've shared.

Please include your current job title and the organisation you work for. If the case study you're sharing relates to a previous role or organisation, just let us know within your story.
