Presentation by Katie Marsden Specialist CF Dietitian at West Midlands Adult CF Centre, followed by Paediatric case study by Claire Berry, Advanced Paediatric Dietitian - Cystic Fibrosis at Alder Hey Hospital and Adult case study with Fiona Moore from Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
Our speaker Katie Marsden, Cystic Fibrosis Dietitian will be reviewing dietary consideration in people with Cystic Fibrosis who follow a Vegan or Vegetarian diet, as well as discussing why people are moving towards “Plant Based Diets”.
About Katie – Katie is a Cystic Fibrosis Dietitian (working at the West Midlands Adult CF Centre) who has been a qualified dietitian since 2018 and had worked with CF since 2020. Katie has seen the change in CF dietary needs with high effective modulator therapies becoming part of treatment during her time within CF. Katie enjoys sharing CF specific nutritional information via social media. She has a background in medical surgical and community dietetics and is passionate about advocating patient preference alongside balanced dietary advice to improve the people with CF’s overall health and relationship with food.
About Claire - Claire Berry has worked in both adult and paediatric CF Dietetics for almost 15 years. Claire is an active member of the UK CF Dietitians group and has presented regionally and nationally on nutrition and Diabetes in CF. Claire is the North West rep for the UK CF Diabetes committee and a co-author of the UK CF Diabetes guidelines due to be published in 2022. Claire is involved in research in CF at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Trust
About Fiona - Fiona Moore is a Specialist Cystic Fibrosis Dietitian at the West of Scotland Adult Cf Unit, Fiona has been working with Adults with CF for 7 years and is currently studying for a Masters in Advanced Practice. She is part of the BDA CF Dietitians committee as social media officer. She is particularly interested in Bone health and micronutrients.
