    More about Dr Claudine Matthews - Dr Claudine Matthews is a registered award-winning Consultant Dietitian, NHS Clinical Entrepreneur and national lead for sickle cell nutrition. She is the founder and CEO of Sickle Cell Nutrition Academy with a dedicated mission to improving the access and outcomes of sickle cell patients to tailored nutrition in the NHS. She is passionate about bridging the knowledge and care gaps in sickle cell nutrition, identified through her Doctoral research. She was awarded the Dame Barabara Clayton Award by the BDA in 2024, the CAHPO Innovation and Improvement Award 2025 by NHS England and shortlisted for the ARU Vice Chancellor Outstanding Alumni Public Service award 2026, in recognition of her work and research in integrating nutrition and nutritional care into sickle cell patient pathways.
