Hosted by Haematology Sub-Group
Ever wondered what sickle cell nutrition is all about? This webinar has been designed with you in mind and serves to help you debunk your myths, equip you with sickle cell–specific nutritional knowledge, empower you to provide tailored dietetic care, and inspire you to be more curious and extend your involvement in research and advocacy.
This is a collaborative event between the Haematology sub-group and the First Contact Practitioner Group, kindly funded by the Oncology Specialist Group, and open to the wider dietetic community. The event aims to celebrate the launch of the new chapter on sickle cell disease in the Manual of Dietetic Practice, being released on 21 May. By opening the event to all dietitians, we hope to promote shared learning and contribute to reducing some of the health inequalities experienced by individuals with sickle cell disease.
Why? Because sickle cell nutrition is more than just about pain, and as dietitians, we are aptly placed to be the visible force and audible voice for improving patient outcomes in the NHS. We look forward to seeing you online.
Please note that this as a one‑off, free webinar to all BDA members to mark the launch of the first ever chapter on Sickle Cell Nutrition in the 7th edition of the Manual of Dietetic Practice
