Poster presentations are a powerful way for renal dietitians to share research and communicate key findings at conferences. But a poster only works when the message is clear, readable, and easy to grasp at a glance.
This session is designed to:
- Introduce simple design principles that improve clarity, readability, and visual impact, especially for busy conference settings.
- Help participants judge poster content with confidence, deciding what to include, what to cut, and how to shape a single clear take-home message.
- Build practical skills in creating a professional poster in PowerPoint, including layout, use of visuals, accessible formatting, and exporting correctly for submission.
Speaker
This session will be hosted by Dr Alex Greenhough, Wallscourt Associate Professor of Health Diagnostics at the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol.
Alex has extensive experience designing and presenting posters for national and international conferences, including winning multiple poster prizes. He also leads a research group that regularly presents at conferences, with his trainees also receiving poster awards. He brings this practical, real-world poster experience to the session, alongside a strong background in scientific communication and figure preparation.
