I am a Registered Dietitian, Registered Nutritional Therapist, Registered Biomedical Scientist and Chartered Scientist, bringing nearly 30 years of experience in NHS pathology into my nutrition practice. I have also spent nearly 25 years volunteering with a mental health charity providing listening support to those in distress or despair. My work bridges conventional dietetics and complementary therapeutic nutrition, with a particular interest in complex, unresolved, or multi system health conditions. 

My practice focuses on providing personalised care—particularly for those who care for others. I have particular interests in histamine intolerance (having completed my master’s dissertation on ‘Experiences of Living with Histamine Intolerance’), mast cell activation, and kidney care for age-related changes and CKD stages 1–3. I have experience supporting social care with menu analysis and reviews, chef and kitchen support, and residents’ support and treatment. I support clients of all abilities, including those with disability and neurodivergence.

Before qualifying as a Dietitian, I worked in NHS laboratory medicine in Cellular Pathology. In the laboratory, I prepared and analysed tissue samples for diagnostic evaluation, working closely with pathologists to support accurate diagnoses and patient care. My work with patients involved processing patient biopsies and surgical specimens, using specialist techniques to help identify disease and guide clinical decision-making. 

Alongside my NHS career, I completed a Master’s degree in Nutritional Therapy, graduating with distinction. After stepping away from the NHS following the challenges of the pandemic, I went on to gain a Postgraduate Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics to integrate medical nutrition therapy into my practice. I now run an integrated private practice as The Therapy Dietitian, under the umbrella of Biomedic Nutritionist®, offering science-led, compassionate support across both dietetic and complementary nutritional therapy services.

I am a speaker at national events, which have included the Allergy & Free From Show 2024 (on Histamine Intolerance) and BBC Radio Merseyside (on Healthy Eating). I will also be speaking at the Institute of Biomedical Science Congress 2025 on Burnout and Workplace Resilience.

My approach is inclusive, reflective, and centred on helping people take the lead in their own wellbeing.

I am also committed to raising the professional recognition of evidence-informed complementary nutritional therapy within healthcare.
