Mrs Samantha Howard
Samantha is a highly experienced Dietitian and co-founder of Sunlight Nutrition Limited. She graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2007 with a Master of Nutrition Degree. Samantha spent 10 years working in the NHS in a variety of clinical roles including gastroenterology, nutrition support, food allergy and more latterly in paediatrics and school nutrition.
Samantha has been working privately since 2016 and in 2017 she set up Sunlight Nutrition Limited with her colleague Dr Lynda Rigley.
“Working in private practice has allowed me to deliver a high quality client led service. I am able to see clients in our outpatient clinic, virtually or in their own environment and to take the time to truly understand their circumstances and provide a personalised dietary plan”.
Samantha works with a number of children and adults with acquired brain and spinal injuries and complex medical needs whose care is managed by a case manager. Samantha works with families, carers and support staff and with the wider multidisciplinary team to share her recommendations.
Samantha completed training in the SOS Approach to feeding in 2021 and works with individuals and families where there are complex struggles with eating.
Alongside her clinical work Samantha directs the Behaviour Change Training and is an expert in the behavioural approach and patient centred care. Samantha is passionate about improving her clients’ experience and enhancing their journey to better health. Training other health care professionals on the behavioural approach, which puts the client at the very heart of everything we do, Samantha hopes to improve the experience and enhance health outcomes for many more people.
