Welcome to the home of the BDA Obesity specialist group website. Some resources in these pages can only be viewed by BDA members, and some only by Obesity specialist group members.
The BDA Obesity specialist group represents dietitians working in adult and childhood obesity prevention and management, recognising obesity as being a specialist area of dietetic practice.
The Obesity specialist group works to communicate evidence-based standards, support post-registration training in obesity management, contribute to national guidelines, campaign for health improvement, and to develop and foster a network of obesity management professionals.
Any BDA member can become a member of the Obesity specialist group. Members are kept up-to-date via regular newsletters and emails. Members are also encouraged to join our LinkedIn network to have the opportunity to contribute to national consultations and other ongoing projects. There is also the potential to make a more direct impact via volunteering for active committee positions. Members can also benefit from discounted rates for study days and grants to support obesity research, evaluation or audit .
