Applicants graduating from an SENR-accredited course

We need to ensure you meet the correct qualifications before you book your place on a SENR Practitioner Preparation Day. If you haven't already, create an account for the BDA website as a non-member.

Step one: Qualification check

You will need to provide:

  1. Certificate and transcript for your SENR-accredited MSc course and undergraduate degree
  2. Proof of Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering (completed within the last five years)
  3. Evidence of completion of anti-doping education certification.  For applicants from the UK, the UKAD Introduction to clean sport (modules 1-6) is recommended.  Applicants from outside the UK can submit evidence of an anti-doping education certification with equivalent modules.

Step two: Book and attend SENR Practitioner preparation Day

Once qualifications have been approved you will be advised via email that you can book a place on the SENR Practitioner Preparation Day.

You will need to attend a SENR Practitioner Preparation Day prior to submitting your practitioner application. Find out the upcoming dates here.

Step three: Preparation and submission of application

Following your attendance at the SENR Practitioner Preparation Day you can now start to prepare your practitioner application. The practitioner application is a detailed and involved piece of work and it will take you some time to collate your evidence and demonstrate how you meet the competencies.

When you are ready to submit your application, complete the form below and submit the required documents.

On the same day, pay the Practitioner application fee of £250 via the BDA shop here.

What happens next?

Applications for practitioner registrations are accepted twice a year on 1 April and 1 October. Our Registration Assessment Panel thoughly assess applications. You will be informed of the outcome of the panel's decision via email, within ten weeks of submission review date.

If approved, you will be invited to join as an SENR member. You will then be added to the SENR Register and enjoy all the benefits of SENR membership.
