Sally Abbott works both as an academic and as a clinical dietitian, specialising in obesity management. She was the European winner of the IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity) Integrated Health Scholarship in 2018 for her commitment to bariatric surgery dietetics and sits on national committees, including on the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS) council and acting Bariatric Officer for the British Dietetic Association (BDA) Obesity Specialist Group. She is an EASO (European Association for Study of Obesity) National Clinical Fellow in recognition of her clinical expertise in the field. Following the completion of two NIHR funded research fellowships, Sally is currently undertaking her PhD by Publication.

Milly Durrant is an award winning membership, communications and marketing expert with almost 9 years’ experience in a senior management role at the BDA. Her focus is on improving the quality of member services, ensuring BDA membership is a valued community for the dietetic profession to be part of, and that member engagement with BDA activities, campaigns and events are high.
She is also focussed on ensuring dietitians are known as the go-to, trusted and expert health professionals, and the BDA is positioned as the leading voice on nutrition and dietetics, by continuing to grow our external impact and influence across our social media channels and the website.
Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant ,
Kate is a Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Consultant with 35 years’ experience working in clinical practice and with commercial organisations. She has worked as a consultant for several food and pharmaceutical companies and has also run a private dietetic practice. Her particular area of interest is heart health.
After qualifying as a Registered Dietitian, Kate worked initially within the NHS, latterly as the Chief Dietitian of The Radcliffe Infirmary, part of the world-renowned group of teaching hospitals in Oxford. Following her time in the NHS, Kate worked within the food industry at Unilever. She was UK Nutrition Manager and later European Nutrition Manager.
Kate has been the Registered Dietitian for Oatly UK for more than seven years
