I’m Laura, a Registered Dietitian, and founder of Nurture for Life Nutrition, an online dietetic practice, specialising in women’s health.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and a Master of Science degree in Public Health Nutrition. In 2005 I graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and I'm now a registered Dietitian with the British Dietetic Association and the Health and Care Professions Council.
I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings and have more than 10 years of experience helping individuals, families, and communities across Europe and Australia make improvements to their health by adopting healthier eating and lifestyle habits.
I specialise in women’s health nutrition, with a strong focus on pregnancy and fertility nutrition, as well as hormonal issues, such as dietary management of PCOS, endometriosis and thyroid conditions. I also have extensive experience in nutrition for weight management that focuses on intuitive and mindful eating and building positive relationships with food.
I became passionate about the link between food, lifestyle and women’s health when, like many women, I struggled with trying to conceive. I was told multiple times that I was suffering from ‘unexplained infertility’, but I didn’t give up and kept searching for answers. After a while I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. The journey was long, and I soon became aware of the limited amount of factual, consistent and reliable information out there relating to fertility and nutrition. Fast forward a year later, I conceived after a successful round of IVF.
I know first hand how the information gaps, combined with the emotional and physical demands of infertility, can make this journey a lonely and challenging one. So I’ve decided to set up Nurture for Life to help other women on their path to motherhood by offering nutritional and lifestyle advice, backed by scientific research, and the much-needed support and coaching, to go through this journey.
My goal is to support you on your journey to a healthier and happier life. I believe that everyone is unique, with their own needs and challenges. I will listen to you, understand what you want to achieve, and together we will work towards realistic goals using a personalised approach, which is built on evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle coaching.
