If you’re completing a pre-registration dietetic apprenticeship or working part-time in the dietetic support workforce while studying a pre-registration dietetic course, join as an Associate Student member. You’ll enjoy all the benefits of BDA student membership, plus additional insurance coverage and dedicated employment support tailored to your role.

This membership is specifically designed for:
- Students undertaking a pre-registration apprenticeship through a BDA-accredited Dietetic programme
- Students employed as a part time support worker while studying a BDA-accredited pre-registration Dietetics programme

Annual Cost
BDA Associate Student membership (for dietetic apprentices) is excellent value for money, worth over £2,000 but costing just £10.33 a month, includes all these benefits, resources and services. Associate Student's pay from the start of their apprenticeship at £10.33 per month, paid monthly or annually, as professional indemnity insurance must be active from the beginning of the apprenticeship; therefore, a free year is not available.
Choose the correct membership category when applying
Selecting the incorrect membership category may result in your application being rejected by your HEI approvals tutor, as you will not appear on the relevant course, and you will need to reapply under the correct category. The correct membership for dietetic apprentices is circled in green in the image below.
The online application form will ask you to select the correct membership category for your learning route. Please choose the option that reflects whether you are studying as a university student or training as a dietetic apprentice.
