Student Representative - Bwrdd Cymru

Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to contribute to the work of Bwrdd Cymru, supporting the dietetic profession and the BDA in Wales.
The Student Representative takes an active part in the Country Board's work programme and brings a student and future workforce perspective to Board discussions and decisions.
This is a developmental, voluntary role that can support the individual's career development and progression through the experience gained. The Student Representative is a full voting member of Bwrdd Cymru, taking a full and active part in Board discussions and decision making, and working closely with the Board, BDA staff and volunteers.
The post holder will be a student member of the BDA, enrolled on an HCPC-approved dietetics programme in Wales. They will also demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and diversity, and to growing diversity in dietetics and the development of a sustainable workforce.
Time Commitment
There are normally four Country Board meetings a year, usually two in person and two held virtually via Teams. The Student Representative will also spend some time on ad hoc matters such as emails, working groups, reading papers, and contributing to projects as agreed.
Term of Office
The role is for a term of three years, with the opportunity to serve a maximum of two terms of office, or until the term of study comes to an end, whichever is sooner.
